Seed Project
Today was the start of a new self-sustaining seed project with 50 students at the LACC school in Terre Froide. Each of the selected students received 3 small marmites of black beans seeds. They ‘sign’ for the seeds, then are responsible for planting the seeds in their garden, taking care of the garden, and harvesting their produce. They are then required to return to the ‘project’ 3 small marmites of black beans seeds. Thus, in a sense they are ‘borrowing’ the seeds to use for their garden.
In the above photo, Pastor Fils Aime watches as a student signs for her seeds. Below is a photo of some of the students with their bags of seeds.
Below, Makendy stands in the middle of his garden with his sack of seeds. He will be planting them later this month, then praying for a great harvest in June. The view from his garden is breathtaking as you can see for miles out over the valleys.
